I have ALWAYS watched a lot of television, as you can tell by the title of this post. Remember the song Carol Burnett used to sing at the end of her show? Well, this is the last week John, Ginger, and I will be blogging about our wonderful, blessed lifestyle in Solivita! Well, I AM so glad that we had this time together, however all good things must come to an end. I have shared my activities with all of you - greeting card making, water classes, YNY beginner class, Our Gang (of madmen and madwomen that gather and …EAT and …PLAY), my volunteering with the Lifestyles Department (REFLECTIONS assembly /delivery, ticket taker for Chef Bill’s cooking demonstrations, and/or whatever they may call me for), African Heritage & Cultural Club (AHCC), Hispanic Heritage & Culture Club (HHCC), CARAMVITA (Caribbean American Association of Solivita), The Vizcaya Social Club, The Smashers (pickleball), Discovery Days Host, and mahjong! Joe and I, along with some of our friends – Jim and Millie, Dennis and Carol, Sheila and Tom, and a few others, are all volunteers at Give Kids The World. But, I really want to put in more time there. Something always comes up and I have to put off calling in to give them some time. THAT is on my list of “MUST DO MORE OFs“. Besides the fact that there a just a few more activities that I want to try here in Solivita. Or, maybe I need to concentrate more on those activities I’m already involved in. New activities, or expanding on the existing activities? New/existing? What to do! Oh my! But I need more time! It’s so exhausting being retired, but somebody’s got to do it!
There is a common denominator with all of my activities, and that’s the friends I have made here. The activities I am involved in or events attended would not be/would not have been as enjoyable if I didn’t share them with nice people! Mardi Gras, Solivita 10th Birthday Celebration, Holiday Golf Cart Parade, Holiday Parties, Pickleball Tournaments, July 4th Celebrations, Martini Madness, Golf Cart Rally, …. I never imagined having this much fun with so many great people.
The pictures you see here are a sampling of the fun we have had since moving to Solivita! I hope the fun, good times, and great memories never end!
Until next time, enjoy life, laugh often, love your family & friends, and remember those 15 hugs a day (to be emotionally healthy)!
Hugs,
Gabby
